Meet The Beautiful Penny Yeboah (model and beauty queen)

The Beautiful Penny.

Peninnah is an amazingly, gorgeous woman who strives towards bringing out beauty in every woman. Her courage and hard-working nature has fueled her modelling carrier with original and unique authenticity.

Read on to discover how she has moved through molten lava to get to where she is now

Who are you? [Tell me a little about yourself. Where were you born and where  have you lived, who you live with, what your family is like, education  backgrounds, age, what do you do, what are your general professional and nonprofessional interests? etc.]

Peninnah Akosua Takyi Yeboah is my name; Most people call me Penny but Dark horse is my brand name. I was born in Dormaa Ahenkro in the Brong Ahafo Region, lived at Russia in Dasoman for 10 years and finally settled in Kasoa with the family.I come from a family of 5 and I’m the oldest.I come from a strong Christian, fun n introverted family where dad always tells us there is no limit to the opportunities out there and mom telling us to make sure daddy’s investment in us pay.My educational life has been a fruitful one I must say though sometimes emotional cos of a few childish friends, lol. I am a level 300 psychology student of Methodist University College Ghana.

Tell me about your career as a model and where you’d like to reach?

Professionally I want to be a psycho-pathologist and a fulfilled model, unprofessionally,a motivational speaker. My career as a model hasn’t been an easy one considering the “weather” for models in our dear country; My modeling career has no limit I must say, I want to be that change the world needs to see in the modeling industry across the globe.

What is the best moment of the day for you?

The best moment of the day for me is when I do not have much to think about and having a nice time, talking and laughing with family and friends.

How did you first get interested in modelling and why is it important to you?

I have always been interested in modeling, modeling came to me actually, I just needed someone to set the pace for me and God being so good, Honourable Theophilleus Chai, MP for Ablekuma South and my very own Dearest, Dionne Slash Gavin, set that pace for me. It is important because it’s something I love doing.

Do you have any other interests besides modelling? How long have you worked as  a model? Is it full time or part time?

YES, I do, psychopathology, My first love.

6 months

Can’t be full time for now because of my books but I try as much as I can to balance the two which has been cool so far. I love my books I must say.

What does fashion and lifestyle mean to you?

It’s a big deal to me actually cos I believe a person’s appearance spells a lot about him or her. To me fashion means, wearing what you have and love but wearing it right.

When did you realize you wanted to become a model?

When I realized there was a something called modeling and upon seeing models catwalk on the runway.

Do you remember the first stage you were on?

I can never forget my first stage, “NOVEL AFRICA ” fashion show was my first stage.

Where do you get your inspiration?

My family

How long does it usually take you to get ready for a shoot (any special routine  like meditation, yoga etc)?

My usual routine has always been prayer and self motivation(Creating funny situations in my mind’s eyes)

What are some of your accomplishments as a model?

I can boast of being part of The joy FM Bridal fair which is one of the biggest Bridal fairs in Gh, The wedding show Gh and the sunset coast events just to mention a few.

D hurt…it is well @wendyfinishing (designer,dress) @prettytouch_gh ,MUA. Heels and muscles fashion show…:(?

What matters to you most as a fashion lover and a model?

My appearance in terms of attire at any function, I always want to look myself and look my best;as a model, to sell the attire I’m wearing on the runway and make what designers/employers have paid pay.

What do you like and dislike in general?

Any attraction to sadness especially anything that will disrupt my peace internally.

How would you define your personal style?

Simple and classy

What do you wish people would understand about working in the modeling?

That Models are not bad Girls and it isn’t all about nudity

What kind of clothes would you never wear?

will wear anything but not ones that will give the public eyes the access to see what underneath what I’m wearing, lol.

Which of your other projects has given you the most satisfaction?

My Charity Foundation, iPenny Soul Charity Foundation though still a baby, it will surely grow.

Over the past year and even recently, you’ve been featured in a few magazines and  newspapers. Can you tell me a little about that?

Will talk about graphic showbiz, it was exciting to see myself there but truth being told, all these things haven’t hit me yet. I was featured in those for the Novel Africa Fashion Show and for being the Maiden Face of Methodist University College Ghana, God being so good.

What are some of your favorite clothing stores/catalogs/websites?

Trueworth and mango. I love to visit a lot of fashion websites just to see what’s trending, no personal favorites actually.

How do you describe the fashion scene in your home city as compared to other  major cities or fashion capitals?

Well, Gh, Accra, is picking up but I think we can do better. We don’t have much to call our own and that’s quite sad… It is obvious the outside world is on top of its game but Gh will surely get there.

What are you afraid of in the future and what plans do you have for yourself?

Fears, lol, funny I haven’t thought of that but hey, I have no fears with God by my side.

A lot of plans actually cos I want to be everything, lol, unfortunately I can’t but it is my plan to be accomplished and fulfilled with whatever dream I have for myself, family, friends and society.

What are you afraid of in the future and what plans do you have for yourself?

The applauds and love from audience and  satisfaction on the faces of the employers and organizers, not for getting the satisfaction I get from that at the end of the day.

What one piece of advice would you give to someone wanting to start a career in  modeling?

Be vigilant, never compromise your self worth and pride, don’t forget where you coming from and walk with God.
